Carnet RESTORATION LOGBOOK Back to Carnet

Privacy policy

CARNET RESTORATION LOGBOOK EFFECTIVE 15 SEPTEMBER 2026 VERSION 1.0

Carnet has no account, no sign-up and no server of its own. Your restoration record — your entries, parts, costs, photographs, receipts and reminders — is stored only on your iPhone and is never transmitted anywhere by this app.

What follows is the long version, including the two narrow exceptions: buying the unlock, and this website. There is nothing hidden in it, and it is short because there is very little to describe.

Who is responsible

Carnet Restoration Logbook is made and published by an independent developer. For any question about this policy, or to exercise any right described below, write to steadyhabit.support@gmail.com.

What the app stores on your device

Everything you enter is written to the app’s own storage area on your iPhone:

None of this is sent to the developer, and none of it is sent to any third party. There is no cloud sync, no backup service, no crash reporting SDK, no analytics SDK and no advertising SDK in the app.

Camera and photo library

Carnet asks permission to use the camera only when you choose to take a photograph inside the app. Photographs you pick from your library are selected through Apple’s own photo picker, which hands Carnet only the images you explicitly choose and requires no library permission at all. Every image ends up as a file in Carnet’s storage on the device.

Notifications

Reminders use local notifications, scheduled on the device by the device. There is no push server, and nothing about a reminder leaves your phone.

Backups

If you back up your iPhone — through iCloud Backup or an encrypted backup to a computer — Carnet’s data is included, exactly like any other app’s. That backup is made and governed by Apple under Apple’s privacy policy, not by Carnet. The developer has no access to it.

The one thing that is collected: your purchase

Carnet offers a single one-time in-app purchase that unlocks the whole garage, the provenance dossier, reminders and search. To sell it, validate it, and restore it to your other devices, Carnet uses RevenueCat, a purchase-infrastructure provider.

When you buy or restore the unlock, the following is processed:

In App Store terms, this is Purchases and Identifiers, and both are declared as not linked to your identity.

Carnet never calls RevenueCat’s login. The identifier is anonymous and is generated on the device — it is not your name, not your email address, not your Apple Account, and not your advertising identifier. There is no way for the developer, or for RevenueCat, to connect it to you as a person.

The lawful basis for this processing is the performance of a contract: it is what makes a purchase you made keep working. It is not used for advertising, it is not used for profiling, it is not sold, and no tracking permission is requested because no tracking occurs. RevenueCat acts as a processor on the developer’s behalf; see the RevenueCat privacy policy.

The purchase itself is made with Apple, not with the developer. Apple handles your payment details and the developer never sees them.

If your phone has no signal

Carnet is built for garages with no reception. Your unlock is remembered on the device, so the app keeps working offline and a failed network check can never take away access you have already paid for. Only buying and restoring need a connection.

This website

This site sets no cookies, runs no analytics, and contains no trackers, tags, pixels or embedded third-party content. The typefaces are served from this site rather than from a font network, specifically so that reading this page does not disclose your visit to anyone else.

The site is hosted by Vercel, which — like any web host — processes the ordinary technical information needed to deliver a page to you, such as your IP address and the page requested, in its server logs. That is the complete extent of it. See the Vercel privacy policy.

Links to Apple, RevenueCat and Vercel leave this site and are governed by their own policies.

Children

Carnet is a tool for recording vehicle restoration work and is not directed at children. It collects no personal information from anyone, of any age.

How long anything is kept

Your record is kept on your device for as long as you keep the app installed. Deleting the app deletes it, and — because there is no server copy — that deletion is final. Purchase records are retained by RevenueCat and Apple for as long as they are needed to honour and account for the transaction.

Your rights

Under the GDPR, the UK GDPR, the CCPA and comparable laws you have rights of access, correction, deletion, restriction, objection and portability, and the right not to be discriminated against for exercising them.

In practice, most of these you can exercise yourself, without asking anyone: your record is on your device, you can read all of it, edit all of it, export it as a PDF, and delete it. The developer holds no personal data about you and cannot identify you, so there is no file here to send you.

For the anonymous purchase identifier, write to steadyhabit.support@gmail.com and it will be dealt with. Carnet does not sell or share personal information, as those terms are defined by the CCPA, and never has.

Changes to this policy

If this policy changes, the revised version will be published on this page with a new effective date, and a material change will be noted in the app’s release notes. The date at the top of this page is always the date in force.

Terms of use for Carnet are Apple’s standard licence, the Licensed Application End User Licence Agreement. That is the licence the purchase actually falls under, so it is linked here at Apple rather than copied, which keeps it current.
